Free Credit Reports for Members
Members can now request credit reports free!
Consumers statewide, including members of Hawaii Schools
Federal Credit Union, can now request a free copy of their
credit report once every 12 months. As part of the
recently-passed Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions (FACT)
Act and in an effort to thwart identity theft attempts against
consumers, the nation's top three credit reporting agencies,
often called 'credit bureaus,' will provide consumers with a
credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com.
The Federal Trade Commission is charged with enforcement of
the FACT Act and has prepared information outlining how
the FACT Act affects consumers. For more FTC information
on this subject, go to http://www.ftc.gov/credit.
